Presidential Johannesburg Working Group (PJWG)

The Presidential Johannesburg Working Group (PJWG) was established by President Cyril Ramaphosa in March 2025 to address major challenges in the city. Its main goals are to accelerate service delivery, stabilize the city’s finances and operations, and enable economic growth. The group focuses on specific areas such as improving infrastructure, water and sanitation, and electricity, as well as rejuvenating the inner city and enhancing safety and security. It operates on a two-year timeframe and will report to the President, working in collaboration with city and provincial officials, and other stakeholders.
