#Braamtalks feedback
#braamtalks is a series of public panel led debates/discussions, which engage a range of urban stakeholders in think tank sessions to discuss key issues affecting the development, growth and sustainability of urban spaces.
#braamtalks is presented by the Braamfontein Improvement District, in partnership with WWF and the City of Joburg.
In the lead up to Earth Hour #braamtalks hosted two sessions on Building Green Cities with the aim to ignite public discussions on what is being done by local government in response to climate change and the City’s sustainability while illustrating the role South African citizens can play in the solution. The themes under discussion were food security and urban land use practices.
Food Security
In the first of the #braamtalks series, the group unpacked issues around food security in the precinct with representatives from the City of Johannesburg, Johannesburg Housing Company, urban stakeholders and professionals.
