JRA to repair all potholes
A message from JRA’s Managing Director Goodwill Mbatha
JRA TO REPAIR ALL POTHOLES
The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) is committed to providing well maintained and safe road infrastructure for all road users. Currently, some of the roads are damaged by potholes that need urgent attention. A substantial number of roads have deteriorated to a level that reconstruction has become necessary to hold the road.
The JRA is aware of the amount of potholes on the city’s roads. The recent heavy down pours accelerated the formation of potholes in areas where the road surface has aged. To effectively repair the potholes the road surface must be dry. The process of road surfacing drying typically takes approximately 3 days after the last down pour. The JRA will repair the potholes as soon as the road surface is dry. Furthermore, the JRA will continue to monitor and make safe areas where there are potholes.
“The JRA endeavors to address roads related maintenance issues as effectively as possible. The safety of road users is JRA’s priority.” said JRA’s Managing Director, Goodwill Mbatha.
The JRA apologises to all road users for the inconvenience caused.
