Implementation of paid parking in the Rosebank CBD, call for public comments
The continued
pressure for development within the Rosebank Node has led the City to assess
how it manages parking in the CBD and balance the needs of all road users. The
City plans to regulate on-street parking in a number of streets in the
Rosebank CBD in order to increase turnover of the most convenient spaces for
consumer convenience, encourage long term parkers to use less convenient spaces
and encourage travellers to use alternative transport modes, reduce problems of
traffic congestion, accidents, energy consumption and pollution emissions.
The affected
streets are Keys, Sturdee, Bath, Arnold, Baker and Walters. A layout drawing of
the proposals along each of these streets and other details can be downloaded
from the City’s Website on www.joburg.org.za and
will also be available at the Rosebank Public Library.
Any person
