Ekhaya Neighbourhood has been ensuring that residents within the CID receive food relief from MES. Using a template provided by MES, Bafikile Mkhize and her team have been helping tenants to complete the forms and submit them to MES.

MES and Ekhaya Neighbourhood have a long history of working together. MES social workers provide counselling and assist the homeless in Hillbrow.

During COVID-19, MES has provided tenants within Ekhaya Neighbourhood with food parcels. Ekhaya security have ensured social distancing during food collection.

• On 1 May MES provided 1080 Food parcels.
• On 26 May, MES distributed 50 more food parcels through Thomas and Pride Academy.
• On 5 June MES distributed a further 50 parcels through Thomas and Pride Academy.
