CID Forum to submit joint IDP comments
The CID Forum is preparing a joint IDP submission with all city improvement districts (CIDs) / voluntary management initiatives.
Consultant, Andrew Barker will be coordinating the submission on behalf of the CID Forum. Barker has already presented a workshop to members of the CID Forum on the content and structure of the IDP with a view to identifying the areas that people need to focus on.
Apart from written submissions, the workshop will be followed by another Zoom session to ensure that all issues are covered within the CIDs.
Andrew Barker is a professional registered Town & Regional planner, urban strategist and environmental protagonist, with experience in facilitating stakeholder engagement and participation in thinking processes and decision-making.
Barker has worked in strategic urban planning and development processes in Johannesburg since 1983. This has largely involved the rehabilitation of mine impacted areas for urban development to bring about economic and social development.
He is also the founder and chairman of the Klipriviersberg Sustainability Association (KlipSA), which was established to protect, promote and enhance the value of the natural assets in the South of Johannesburg.
